The show is guided by notions of effort and endurance and brings together artistic and sporting practices. Twelve choristers and seven athletes, some of them disabled, take to the water in this multi-disciplinary performance that looks like a serene stroll. Accompanied by majestic a cappella chants, the audience is guided to the edge of the pool, where a stuffed deer sits enthroned and lets out its silent bellow. The sacred melodies resonate under the vault, occasionally interrupted by the referee’s whistle, as the pool becomes a cathedral-like nave for a celebration of water, art, and sport.
